Using a multiple-case study approach, we investigate how two organizations, Lummi Island Wild and Wild Idea Buffalo, negotiate place, sustainability, and traditional Indigenous strategies to engage in alternative food system production practices. We compare how these organizations operate outside of conventional food systems in two distinct geographical locations.
